The State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Emergency Situations held a tactical-special exercise on the topic of “Conducting diver-search and rescue operations in water basins” at Shikh beach, located in the Sabail district of Baku.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry, the main purpose of the exercise, which involved personnel from relevant MES structures, was to implement coordination, management, and control in the field of ensuring human safety in water, as well as to increase the knowledge and skills of leadership, command staff, and other participants regarding actions during emergency situations, and to ensure the reliability of communication and warning systems.
During the exercise, based on information received by the Duty Unit of the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue regarding a “pleasure boat accident” 800 meters to the right of the “Shikh” Water Rescue Station, which resulted in 3 people being in “danger” and 1 person “drowning” after falling into the water, the relevant forces of the Service were deployed to the scene.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of the rescuers, the citizens who were “in danger of drowning” as a result of the boat “accident” were saved, and the “body” of the 1 person who had “drowned” was found and handed over accordingly.
After the successfully conducted exercise, the results obtained were discussed, and relevant instructions were given.
