Within the framework of the “Shah Deniz 2” project, 17 billion cubic meters of gas are currently being produced annually.
This was reported to “Elchi” by “BP Azerbaijan”.
It was stated that the total production from “Shah Deniz”, including the first phase of the field’s development, currently amounts to 27 billion cubic meters of gas per year and more than 80,000 barrels of condensate per day. The production capacity of the existing “Shah Deniz” facilities is more than 76 million standard cubic meters per day or 28 billion cubic meters per year.
Offshore, the “Shah Deniz 2” project consists of 26 subsea wells, a total of 500 km of subsea pipelines and flowlines, and two new bridge-linked platforms. The gas is transported to the shore via an 85 km pipeline to the “Sangachal” terminal, which has been expanded to receive additional gas volumes. Within the framework of the project, the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) export system has also been expanded, with a new pipeline built (428 km in Azerbaijan and 59 km in Georgia) and three new compression facilities constructed along the 3,500-kilometer route extending to Europe.
In total, 23 wells have been drilled under “Shah Deniz 2”. These include five wells in the north flank of the field, five in the west flank, four in the east-south flank, five in the west-south flank, and four in the east-north flank.
