Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov met with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Ivanets, during his visit to the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the 16th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus.

It was noted that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the current state of cooperation in science and education, including general, vocational, and higher education, as well as initiatives planned for implementation in the near future. During the meeting, areas of cooperation between Karabakh University and leading higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus were identified.
The Deputy Minister also visited the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University. Accompanied by the university’s rector, Alexander Zhuk, and the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Bakhanovich, Firudin Gurbanov toured the Republican Resource Center for Educational Robotics, the sports complex, the library system, and the digital electronics teaching laboratory located at the university.
Later, the Deputy Minister visited the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture operating at the same university. Familiarizing himself with the conditions created at the center, Firudin Gurbanov highly appreciated the activities carried out there to promote the Azerbaijani language, history, and culture. He presented books on Karabakh heritage and culture to the center.
Firudin Gurbanov met with Azerbaijani students studying in the Republic of Belarus at the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed his confidence that the students would worthily represent Azerbaijan both in the country where they study and in the international academic environment. Emphasizing the dynamic development of relations between Azerbaijani and Belarusian higher education institutions, he spoke about the opportunities this cooperation creates for students. Finally, the students’ questions were answered, and their proposals were heard.
