The “Women of the 21st Century” Public Union held an awareness-raising event at the Shamakhi Vocational Lyceum within the framework of the “From Darkness to Light: Awareness and Support Against Human Trafficking” project.
“Elchi” reports that the event was attended by Elvin Ismayilov, an employee of the Main Department for Combating Human Trafficking, Mahira Amirhuseynova, Chair of the “Women of the 21st Century” PU and head of the mentioned project, Ismail Tarverdiyev, Director of the Shamakhi Vocational Lyceum, as well as the teaching staff and students of the lyceum.
During his speech at the event, Elvin Ismayilov spoke about the directions of the fight against human trafficking.
Project head Mahira Amirhuseynova noted that conducting social work with vulnerable population groups who could potentially become victims of human trafficking and raising their awareness is of particular importance. To this end, the PU she leads regularly organizes awareness-raising events in various educational institutions and on public platforms.
Furthermore, in her speech, Mahira Amirhuseynova provided extensive educational information regarding how people are lured into this path through deceptive promises on social networks and social platforms.
Within the framework of the event, questions of interest to the students were answered, and the importance of increasing public awareness in the fight against human trafficking was emphasized.
It should be noted that the “From Darkness to Light: Awareness and Support Against Human Trafficking” project is implemented with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
