Large-scale works have been carried out in the liberated territories to restore and reconstruct drinking water and sewage infrastructure.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated to journalists by the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA).
It was reported that one of the largest water supply systems operates in the city of Khankendi.
It was noted that the city is supplied with water through the Khalfali River, main water pipelines, and 15 sub-artesian wells. In Khankendi, a 104-kilometer water network, two water treatment plants with a daily capacity of 16,000 cubic meters, water reservoirs with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, and a 67-kilometer sewage network are in operation. Currently, 3,264 subscribers are being served in the city.
In the city of Shusha, water supply is provided through a system fed by the Kichik Kirs and Zarisli water sources. Here, a 34.5-kilometer water network, a 27.5-kilometer sewage line, and a water treatment plant with a daily capacity of 5,000 cubic meters are in operation. In Shusha, 535 subscribers and 30 consumers use water services.
In the settlements of Khojaly, Askeran, Khojavend, Hadrut, and Aghdara, existing water sources have been restored, new water lines have been laid, additional sub-artesian wells have been drilled, and modern facilities for wastewater treatment have been installed.
Currently, sustainable water supply services are provided for state institutions, organizations, and the settled population in the cities and towns of the region.
