The certification procedure for teachers working in state children’s music, art, painting schools, and other similar state educational institutions has been approved.
“Elchi” reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree in this regard.
This procedure has been prepared in accordance with Article 36-2.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Education” and regulates the procedure for checking the professional level and professional aptitude of teachers engaged in pedagogical activities in state children’s music, art, painting schools, and other similar state educational institutions (hereinafter – educational institutions).
It is reported that teachers with higher and secondary specialized education engaged in pedagogical activities in educational institutions must undergo free certification once every 5 (five) years to check their professional level and professional aptitude.
According to the procedure, pregnant women, women on social leave for a child under three years of age and those who have been working in the relevant position (profession) for less than 1 (one) year after the end of such leave (men raising a child alone), those hired for the first time – for a period of 3 (three) years, and persons who have passed certification at least 3 (three) times are exempt from certification. Participation in certification for persons aged 60 and over is voluntary.
Certification is organized by the Ministry of Culture.
