Pope Francis has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev.
“Elchi” reports that the letter states:
“Your Excellency,
On the occasion of your national holiday, I am pleased to convey my wishes for solidarity and prosperity to Your Excellency and your people.
I pray to the Almighty that He may inspire the Azerbaijani people to further develop their society. May they always be advocates of peace, working for the common good, defending the dignity of every human being, and providing assistance to those in need.
I invoke divine blessings upon Your Excellency, those responsible for state affairs, and all your fellow citizens.”
