Iran has denied allegations of striking Kuwait International Airport, stating that the damage was caused by a missile belonging to the US Patriot air defense system falling there.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Hossein Mohebi, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“Our investigation shows that the IRGC Aerospace Force did not carry out any launches at this target. The destruction of the Kuwait Airport passenger terminal is the result of a mistake by US Patriot systems, which fell onto the terminal after a failed attempt to intercept Iranian missiles,” the Iranian state broadcaster quoted him as saying.
Earlier, it was reported that Kuwait International Airport had suspended operations due to drone attacks. As a result of the strikes on the terminal by UAVs and ballistic missiles, 1 person died and more than 60 people were injured.
