The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
“Elchi” reports that the congratulatory letter states:
“Your Excellency,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Independence Day, I express my deep pleasure in conveying my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency, your Government, and your people, on my own behalf as well as on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka.
It is a great pleasure to see the further expansion of the existing friendly relations and close cooperation between Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan. I am confident that the mutual friendship and cooperation between our countries will be further strengthened in the coming years for the well-being of our peoples.
Taking this opportunity, I wish Your Excellency good health, happiness, and great success, and to the people of Azerbaijan, lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
