In order to ensure the high-level organization of the Swimming World Cup to be held in Baku from October 1-3, to guarantee the safety of participants, and to fulfill the technical and organizational requirements of the international federation, large-scale preparations have begun at the Baku Aquatics Palace.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
During the preparation period, repair, restoration, and reconstruction work will be carried out at the sports facility, competition equipment will be installed, technical and administrative zones will be created, and the necessary infrastructure will be prepared for the activities of participants, judges, international federation representatives, volunteers, and the Organizing Committee. For this reason, the activities of the rhythmic gymnastics, artistic swimming, dry diving, and Japanese martial arts sections, as well as the Olympic pool (50 meters), training pool, and water polo pool, will be temporarily suspended.
It should be noted that the applied restrictions only cover the period of preparation for the World Cup and the duration of the competitions and are not permanent. After the completion of the preparation work and the international competition, it is planned to gradually restore the activities of all sections and pools. The decision stems solely from organizational, technical, and security requirements arising from the hosting of the international sports event.
