Diplomatic relations established between Azerbaijan and Micronesia

On June 1, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia.

This was reported to elchi by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

It was stated that a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states was signed in New York by Tofiq Musayev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, and Jim Lipve, Permanent Representative of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United Nations.

The Joint Communiqué expresses the intention of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between their peoples.

The document also emphasizes that the governments of both states, in establishing diplomatic relations, are guided by the UN Charter and the universally accepted norms and principles of international law, particularly the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.

A corresponding letter has been addressed to the UN Secretary-General for the distribution of the Joint Communiqué as a UN document.
