A cargo ship has been subjected to an armed attack in the Persian Gulf.
“Elchi” reports that the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has released information regarding this incident.
It is noted that the cargo ship was struck by an unidentified projectile, which caused a powerful explosion.
The incident occurred approximately 65 nautical miles (40 miles) southeast of the Iraqi city of Umm Qasr.
Currently, there is no information from UKMTO regarding any environmental impact.
