elchi reports that this was stated by Sule Kilic, EBRD’s Head of Energy for Eurasia, within the framework of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to her, Azerbaijan and Central Asia are among the priority regions for the EBRD’s activities.
Sule Kilic noted that 1.2 gigawatts of the 2 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity currently available in Azerbaijan have been financed by the EBRD.
“In Central Asia, we have financed renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 6.5 gigawatts to date. The volume of investments made in these projects has reached 4.2 billion euros,” she emphasized.
According to the EBRD official, the proper preparation of projects, the creation of a transparent regulatory environment, and effective risk management are the main conditions for attracting financing for energy transition projects.
