An attempt to smuggle over 20 kilograms of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented.

It was stated that as a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment of the State Border Service’s Border Troops Command, the smuggling of a total of 20 kilograms and 615 grams of marijuana and 470 Metadon M-40 psychotropic pills from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the incident are ongoing.
