Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale demining operations.
elchi reports that this was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
He noted that international experience was also used after the territories were liberated: “However, the speed did not fully satisfy us. Nevertheless, the work in Azerbaijan had to be done on time so that internally displaced persons could return to their lands, which they had been waiting for for 30 years. Therefore, we formed a post-conflict and reconstruction model. In such a situation, the main issue is effective coordination between government agencies.”
Hikmet Hajiyev also emphasized that more than 400 mine incidents have occurred in the liberated territories since 2020.
