An oil tanker from Azerbaijan has arrived in Japan since the start of the conflict around Iran

For the first time since the start of the conflict around Iran, an oil-laden tanker has arrived in Japan from Azerbaijan. This was reported by Japan’s public television.

TASS reports that the oil was purchased by the local oil refining company “ENEOS”, one of the country’s largest gas station operators.

According to the information, the tanker brought approximately 45,000 kiloliters of oil, which is equivalent to 16 percent of Japan’s daily oil consumption rate.

It is reported that the purchase of oil from Azerbaijan is being carried out within the framework of diversifying Japan’s oil supply against the backdrop of shipping problems in the Strait of Hormuz.
