The results of the first attempt of the basic subjects knowledge assessment exam, held on May 3, 2026, for admission to residency, have been announced.

556 candidates have met the competition requirements for the first stage
It is stated that each candidate can visit the SEC website to view their exam results and the graphic representation of their answer sheet. Candidates can also obtain information about their exam results by sending the code indicated on their admission ticket to the number 7727 via mobile operators (Azercell, Bakcell, Nar).
“According to the results, out of 1702 candidates scheduled to participate in the exam, 34 did not attend. 556 candidates met the competition requirements for the first stage (40 points or higher).
Of those who met the competition requirements, 279 are 4th or 5th-year students. 4th and 5th-year students who receive a “pass” grade in the basic subjects knowledge assessment exam are allowed to take the specialized subjects knowledge assessment exam only after obtaining the right to be admitted to residency.
277 candidates have been admitted to the second stage
A total of 277 candidates, including 114 graduates of this year and 163 graduates of previous years, have been admitted to the second stage of the exam held on May 3.
674 candidates who received a “pass” result in the basic subjects knowledge assessment exam in previous years and registered for residency admission this year are also directly admitted to the second stage – the specialized subjects knowledge assessment exam.
An Appeals Commission will operate online (via “Zoom” or telephone) to review appeals regarding exam results. To apply to the Appeals Commission, an electronic application form will be posted on the apelyasiya.dim.gov.az website. Candidates can apply to the Appeals Commission from 10:00 on May 5 to 17:00 on May 6.”
It should be noted that the retake exam (2nd attempt) for the basic subjects knowledge assessment is scheduled for June 21. Registration to participate in the exam will be conducted online on the SEC website from May 25 to June 4, 2026. The specialized subjects knowledge assessment exam (Stage II) is planned for August 9. Candidates who have scored 40 or more points in the basic subjects knowledge assessment exam, received a “pass” result, and have the right to be admitted to residency are allowed to take the specialized subjects knowledge assessment exam.
