As of March 31 of this year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) current loan portfolio in Azerbaijan reached 898 million euros. This represents an increase of 2.3% or 21 million euros in the last month.
“Elchi” reports this with reference to the EBRD. According to the information, the number of active projects is currently 36.
It is noted that 90% of the portfolio (825 million euros) consists of investments in sustainable infrastructure, 7% (63 million euros) in industry, commerce, and agribusiness, and 3% (30 million euros) in financial institutions. The volume of the bank’s operating assets in the country increased by 3% to 716 million euros.
Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested 3.712 billion euros in Azerbaijan within the framework of 202 projects, and 93.1% of this volume (3.458 billion euros) has already been spent by borrowers on project implementation. The private sector accounts for 40% of the portfolio.
It should be recalled that in 2025, the EBRD allocated 81 million euros for 10 projects in Azerbaijan.
