“We must secure the country’s interests in the negotiations”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that they aim to secure Iran’s interests in the negotiations held after the 40-day war that began with US-Israeli attacks.
elchi reports that after his meetings in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Saint Petersburg as part of his official contacts in Russia.
The Iranian minister evaluated his contacts in Oman and Pakistan in a statement to his country’s state television in Saint Petersburg.

“Conditions under which negotiations can be continued were discussed”
Touching upon his contacts in Russia, Araghchi stated that he came to the country to meet with high-ranking Russian officials to continue close consultations on regional and international issues between Tehran and Moscow and to improve bilateral relations.
Araghchi emphasized that today’s meetings were a good opportunity to discuss developments related to the war and to evaluate the current situation regarding this issue, and that consultation and coordination between the two countries are of special importance in this context. Regarding his meetings in Islamabad, Araghchi said: “The visit to Islamabad was very productive and good consultations were held. In this context, past developments were reviewed and the conditions for continuing negotiations between Iran and the US were discussed.” Pointing out that Iran’s conditions in the negotiations are of great importance, Araghchi said: “After 40 days of resistance, we must definitely obtain the rights of the Iranian people and secure the country’s interests (in the negotiations).”
