Approximately 20,000 sailors continue to remain stranded in the Persian Gulf zone. In recent days, the number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has been too low for the situation to begin improving.
elchi reports that the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, stated this while answering a question from TASS at a briefing.
“Only 11 ships have passed in the last two days. We were talking about a figure of roughly 20,000 sailors. Perhaps their number is slightly higher. In fact, very few ships have been able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in an eastward direction. Therefore, that figure has not actually changed much,” the IMO head said.
