NASA’s next group of astronauts to fly around the Moon were quarantined on Friday evening.
Elchi.az reports that NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Jeremy Hansen, aim to avoid contracting any illness that could delay their mission by limiting contact with others in the days leading up to launch. This period, called the “health stabilization program,” typically begins about 14 days before launch.
The start of the quarantine already provides reassurance for teams to continue their work for the February launch cycle.
Currently, the agency has not yet set an official launch date as rocket and spacecraft testing continues. Depending on the results of wet testing or other operational assessments, the crew can exit and re-enter quarantine 14 days before any launch date.
