Apple’s long-awaited move is finally becoming clear. The company is working on a comprehensive update to turn Siri into an advanced artificial intelligence assistant that can compete with platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Within the framework of this project, codenamed “Campos,” Siri will be equipped with a special Apple model built on Google’s Gemini technology.
Elchi.az reports that this collaboration will transform Siri from an assistant that simply executes commands into an artificial intelligence with deep thinking abilities and fluent speech.
Siri Will Now Be a Standalone Application
Structurally, the biggest change is that Siri will function as a standalone application deeply integrated into Apple devices, rather than a background assistant.
Expected to be released in 2026 with iOS 27, macOS 27, and iPadOS 27, this new interface will have the following capabilities:
Advanced Web Searches: Direct and comprehensive answers to complex questions. Image Generation: Artificial intelligence-based visual creation using text commands. Text Summarization and Document Analysis: Understanding long documents and extracting important information. Understanding Screen Context: Analyzing what the user is currently seeing on the screen and performing relevant actions.
