ICESCO thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his support for cooperation and partnership development in Azerbaijan.
elchi reports that the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, said this at a special joint session of the 3rd High-Level Meeting of International Organizations and the 6th Meeting of Ministers within the framework of the Baku Process in Baku.
He also thanked the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan for organizing the meeting, bringing together ministers and international organizations, and creating an opportunity to overcome common concerns and make practical decisions: “The main success will be measured by the change those decisions will bring to people’s lives. Faith in multilateral cooperation has diminished, and to restore this faith, we must bridge the gap between the commitments we have made and their implementation. This requires consistent application of principles and consistency in fulfilling promises. Our institutions and communities in countries need reliable support and cooperation opportunities. In this regard, stronger coordination is crucial.
Expenditures aimed at peacebuilding could be around half a percent of global net wealth. Although these figures are based on certain assumptions, their message is clear: investing in conflict prevention can yield significant economic and social results.”
