An event was held in Sumgayit city on October 20 – Energy Workers’ Day.
elchi reports that event participants first visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid bouquets of flowers at its base, and commemorated the dear memory of the Great Leader with deep respect.
The event held at the Heydar Aliyev Center was attended by Gündüz Aliyev, an official of the Sumgayit City Executive Power, Khandan Ahmadov, Director of the Sumgayit High Voltage Electric Network, Elmar Mahmudov, Head of the Sumgayit Regional Energy Supply and Sales Department of Azerishiq OJSC, and representatives and employees of organizations operating in the energy sector.
Speaking at the event, Gündüz Aliyev conveyed the congratulations of the Head of the Sumgayit City Executive Power, Zakir Farajov, to the event participants on the occasion of Energy Workers’ Day.
It was stated that the foundation of the modern development of Azerbaijan’s energy sector was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Under the leadership of the Great Leader, important steps were taken to ensure the country’s energy security, increase production capacity, and develop the energy infrastructure. As a result of large-scale projects implemented in the energy sector under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the country’s energy system is being strengthened, new substations are being built, existing energy facilities are being reconstructed, and the infrastructure for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution is being modernized.
The speeches emphasized the special importance of reliable energy supply to Sumgayit city, one of Azerbaijan’s important industrial centers. It was stated that in recent years, consistent measures have been taken to renovate the electricity networks in various parts of the city, install new transformer substations and distribution devices, and repair and restore existing lines. The work done serves to provide the population and industrial enterprises with stable, uninterrupted, and high-quality electricity.
It was specifically noted at the event that the daily activities of energy workers require responsible and dedicated labor, and their services in the development of the city’s energy economy were highly appreciated.
At the end of the event, a group of employees were awarded Honorary Diplomas of the Sumgayit City Executive Power for their effective work in the energy sector, exemplary performance of their professional duties, and their contributions to the development of the city’s energy economy.
