The Charter and structure of the Azerbaijan Republic Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Business, Investment and Export Promotion under the Ministry of Economy have entered into force as of today.
elchi reports that this is stipulated in the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on August 20.
According to the Charter, the Agency will operate in the direction of supporting the development of micro, small and medium entrepreneurship, attracting investments to the non-oil-gas sector, and promoting exports.
The organization will take measures to protect the rights and legal interests of entrepreneurs, investors, and exporters, and will organize the provision of state services to them in a single location.
The responsibilities of the Agency also include preparing proposals on facilitating entrepreneurs’ and startups’ access to credit, investment, grants, and other financial resources, and providing services for foreign investors to enter the local market and expand their activities.
In addition, draft normative legal acts affecting micro, small and medium entrepreneurship, investment, and export activities must be coordinated with the Agency by the bodies defined in the decree.
The Agency will be headed by a director appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Economy in agreement with the President. The director will have four deputies.
The structure of the organization consists of the Apparatus and regional divisions.
