French President Emmanuel Macron’s approval rating has dropped to a record low.
elchi reports that according to the French publication “Le Figaro”, only 18 percent of citizens support him.
Compared to the previous poll conducted at the end of June, Macron’s rating has decreased by seven percentage points. The publication notes that this decline occurred against the backdrop of public concern in France regarding the increase in fuel prices.
According to the poll, the positive assessment of Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s performance has also sharply decreased by eight percentage points. 24 percent of French respondents consider him a good prime minister.
The poll was conducted on September 23 and 24 among adult French citizens.
Macron had previously expressed his dissatisfaction with fuel prices at gas stations in France, calling them unbearable. Prior to that, it was reported that gasoline prices in the country had reached a record high at a time when the conflict involving Iran was intensifying.
