FIFA has accused UEFA of spreading false information about Gianni Infantino in an attempt to prevent his re-election as president.

According to the information, a court document submitted by FIFA in Miami stated that UEFA is trying to block the request to provide all evidence regarding the attempt to sell World Cup shares to private investors.
It should be noted that in August, UEFA applied to a US federal court, requesting permission to obtain testimony and documents for a criminal case intended to be launched against Infantino in Switzerland regarding an already abandoned plan to transfer the commercial rights of the World Cup to a subsidiary.
UEFA claims that Infantino tried to gain personal profit from the proposal to sell the rights to the World Cup.
FIFA has rejected these claims. In a statement, the organization said that UEFA’s allegations regarding Infantino violating any law or ethical principle are “categorically baseless.”
FIFA noted that the plan in question had to be approved by both member associations and the FIFA Council and implemented under the supervision of both bodies.
