MES commemorated September 27 – Remembrance Day

A series of events were held by the Baku Regional Center (RC) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) in connection with September 27 – Remembrance Day.

Information about this was provided to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the agency.

It was stated that, first, the staff of the Center visited the Military Memorial Cemetery. Fresh flowers were laid on the graves of the heroic sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity, freedom of our lands, and sovereignty of our country, and their dear memory was honored with respect.

Within the framework of the series of events, a tree-planting campaign was organized in the green belt allocated for the Baku RC by the Narimanov Municipality in the territory of the Narimanov district of the capital. As a sign of respect for the dear memory of the martyrs, various types of trees were planted, and appropriate agrotechnical care was provided to them.

Later, the commemoration event organized at the Regional Center was attended by the head of the Baku RC, Colonel Elnur Maharramov, Member of the Milli Majlis Aydin Huseynov, Hero of the Patriotic War, father of martyr Senior Lieutenant Azad Humbatov, Arif Humbatov, participants of the Patriotic War, and staff of the Center.

The participants of the event first laid wreaths at the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and expressed their respect for the dear memory of the Great Leader.

The ceremony began with the playing of the National Anthem and a minute of silence in memory of our martyrs.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the head of the Center, Colonel Elnur Maharramov, spoke about the heroism shown by the powerful Azerbaijani Army under the wise leadership of the President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in the Second Karabakh War, which lasted only 44 days and ended with a historic Victory, and spoke about the significance of the unparalleled Victory achieved.

Other speakers noted that the 44-day Patriotic War, which began with the counter-offensive operation of the valiant Azerbaijani Army by the order of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev in response to Armenia’s large-scale military provocation against Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020, ended with a historic Victory, our ancestral lands under occupation were liberated, and the territorial integrity of our country was restored. Our soldiers and officers showed unparalleled bravery in the liberation of our lands and wrote their names into the glorious history of Azerbaijan forever with their heroism.

At the end of the event, a video dedicated to Remembrance Day was shown.
