An oil refinery in Russia’s Rostov region has suspended operations following a drone attack. Additionally, it has been reported that an industrial zone in the Perm region, home to one of the country’s largest oil refineries, “Permnefteorgsintez,” was also targeted by a drone attack.
elchi reports that the governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, issued a written statement detailing the drone attack that occurred in the region overnight.
Slyusar stated that approximately 50 drones were neutralized across six districts during the air defense operations; he noted that the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery sustained damage and has temporarily suspended its operations.
Slyusar mentioned that there is no further information regarding casualties or the extent of the damage in the area following the attack, and that investigations are ongoing.
In Russia, one of the world’s largest oil producers, fuel supply issues that had eased last month are intensifying again, making access to gasoline increasingly difficult in various regions of the country.
Due to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, repair and maintenance work is being carried out at numerous facilities, leading to restrictions on fuel sales in many regions. The Russian government had also banned the export of diesel fuel and gasoline.
