With the initiative of the “Gabala Regional Youth Resource Center” Public Union and the financial support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the implementation of the “Digital Future” – Support for the virtual employment of regional youth project is being launched.
The project will cover the period from October 1 to December 31, 2026, and will be implemented in the Gabala and Ismayilli districts. The main goal of the project is to develop the digital skills of unemployed youth aged 18-29 living in the regions, to enable them to acquire knowledge and skills in line with the requirements of the modern labor market, and to create conditions for the effective use of virtual employment opportunities.
Within the framework of the project, the participation of 120 young people living in the Gabala and Ismayilli districts is planned. Special attention will be paid to maintaining gender balance in the selection of participants, as well as involving young people from socially vulnerable groups in the project.
As part of the activities, seminars and training sessions dedicated to virtual employment, freelance activities, digital skills, and opportunities in the online labor market will be organized. Participants will be provided with practical knowledge on career planning, job search strategies, effective use of digital platforms, and ways to take advantage of existing opportunities in the modern labor market.
The training will be conducted by experts with knowledge and experience in line with the modern requirements of the labor market. In order for participants to turn their theoretical knowledge into practical skills, various practical exercises will be carried out, and support will be provided for their use of local and international online job platforms, gaining access to freelance networks, and establishing connections with potential employers.
Within the framework of the project, activities will also be carried out in the direction of supporting the entrepreneurial and startup initiatives of young people, expanding access to the business environment, facilitating integration into the labor market, and promoting more effective use of employment services.
The partners of the project include the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and the State Employment Agency. Within the framework of the cooperation, it is planned to support the entrepreneurial initiatives of young people, develop startup ideas, expand access to the labor market, and create opportunities for familiarization with the real work environment and practical experience.
Monitoring the subsequent activities of the participants who complete the training program and providing support for their integration into the virtual labor market is also one of the main directions of the project. For this purpose, it is planned to provide advisory and consulting services to young people after the training, inform them about existing job opportunities, and support the development of their independent activities.
As a result of the project implementation, it is expected that the digital knowledge and skills of regional youth will be increased, they will make more effective use of virtual employment opportunities, and their competitiveness in the modern labor market will be strengthened. At the same time, it is aimed to expand access to remote work opportunities, especially for young people from socially vulnerable groups, and to increase inclusivity in the field of employment.
In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to increasing interest in virtual employment and the “Home office” model among regional youth, recognizing new opportunities in the digital labor market, and networking young people with individuals active in this field.
It is planned to hold the events within the framework of the project at the Gabala State Vocational Education Center and the Ismayilli State Vocational Education Center. The participation of 120 young people living in the Gabala and Ismayilli districts who meet the age group determined by the project will be ensured in the project activities.
