The “PeşəFest-2026” project, implemented by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, has launched, and the first event of the project was held in the city of Sumgayit.
According to the information provided to elchi by the State Employment Agency, the festival, organized under the motto “Learn a profession, build your future!”, aims to inform students and their parents about professions relevant to the labor market and to support young people in their career choices.
The event was attended by the Head of the Sumgayit City Executive Power Zakir Farajov, Members of Parliament Hijran Huseynova, Tahir Mirkishili, Mehriban Valiyeva, Sabina Salmanova, and Elnara Akimova, Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Hasil Abbasov, heads of various state and private organizations, and representatives of the public.
Zakir Farajov stated that the expansion of Sumgayit’s industrial potential increases the demand for new and modern professions and qualified personnel. In this regard, “PeşəFest” is an important platform for informing young people about the requirements of the labor market, familiarizing them with various professions, and helping them correctly determine their future career paths.
In his speech, Hasil Abbasov noted that “PeşəFest” is an interactive career-oriented project covering 11 economic regions of the country, and that the festival supports young people and students in their career choices and in taking the right steps toward their professional future.
Members of the Milli Majlis also emphasized in their speeches the importance of developing the professional skills of young people and acquiring qualifications that meet the requirements of the labor market. They noted that projects implemented in this direction make a significant contribution to both the career opportunities of individuals and the development of the country’s labor market. The MPs highlighted the importance of initiatives like “PeşəFest” in promoting professions and strengthening ties between employers and job seekers.
Afterward, professionals gave presentations according to their specialties and highlighted the characteristics of the professions they represent. They provided recommendations to the festival participants regarding career choices.
The next “PeşəFest-2026” will be held on September 22 at Heydar Aliyev Park in the city of Quba.
The festival will then take place in Qakh on September 25, Mingachevir on September 28, Ganja on September 30, Gazakh on October 2, Barda on October 5, Saatli on October 7, Masalli on October 9, Nakhchivan on October 13, Ordubad on October 15, and Baku on October 22.
“PeşəFest-2026” organizes educational events for 11 professions and specialties that are particularly relevant in the labor market. These include barista, barber, nurse, sailor, IoT (Internet of Things) specialist, flight engineer, fashion designer, weapons engineer, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) specialist, cybersecurity specialist, and UI/UX designer (website and application designer).
Festival participants have the opportunity to gain useful information about the uniqueness of these professions and the required skills, as well as to communicate with experts.
