The amount of non-performing loans in Azerbaijan has increased

According to the information provided by the Central Bank, as of August 1, 2026, the loan portfolio of the country’s banks and other credit organizations increased by 12.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 34,155.1 million manats in national currency equivalent.

“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the State Statistical Committee.

28,353.9 million manats or 83.0 percent of the total loan portfolio accounted for long-term loans.

94.0 percent of the loans were provided by banks, and 6.0 percent by non-bank credit organizations and credit unions.

The amount of overdue loans increased by 36.6 percent during the year to 723.0 million manats, accounting for 2.1 percent of the total loan portfolio.
