The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has conducted a joint drill at the Penitentiary Service’s facility No. 15 of the Ministry of Justice.

The drill involved the relevant personnel and equipment from the MES State Fire Control and State Fire Protection services, as well as the Ministry of Justice’s Penitentiary Service.
The purpose of the drill was to instill behavioral rules regarding emergency situations, including fires, among Penitentiary Service employees, to further improve the activities of fire protection units during fires in such facilities, and to enhance the professional skills of personnel in rescue operations.
In the theoretical part of the event, MES employees provided detailed information on necessary behavioral rules and evacuation measures during emergencies, including fires. Additionally, the rules for using primary fire extinguishing equipment were demonstrated to the participants, and their questions were answered.
In the practical part of the drill, after an “Alarm” signal was given regarding a simulated fire on the facility grounds, the facility staff “made an initial intervention to the fire,” while fire protection units arrived at the scene promptly to carry out operations for evacuating persons held in the facility from the “danger zone,” conducting rapid reconnaissance at the “fire” site, and “extinguishing the fire.”
Following the successful drill, the results were discussed, relevant instructions were given, and educational materials were provided to the employees responsible for fire safety at the facility.
