On September 9, a foreign cargo ship named “TEDY”, which had Azerbaijani citizens among its crew, was subjected to drone attacks in the Black Sea.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, information has been received that Azerbaijani citizens Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov died as a result of the attack, while Imran Novruzov and Rauf Aliyev were injured.
The wounded have been placed in a hospital in the city of Chornomorsk, Ukraine.
“Currently, coordination work is being carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with our country’s diplomatic missions, as well as the competent authorities of the relevant countries regarding the matter. Measures are being taken to return our injured citizens to the country after their medical examination and treatment, to provide necessary consular support, and to carry out procedures regarding the bodies.
We express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
We once again call on Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from traveling to regions where military operations are ongoing or the security situation is unstable, from engaging in labor activities in those areas, or from working on vehicles, including ships, operating along these routes,” the statement says.
