African football legend Yaya Touré makes history

Yaya Touré, one of the legends of African football, has made history in the Champions League.

elchi reports that the 43-year-old specialist will lead his team as the head coach of Slovan Bratislava in the match against PSG in the League phase of the tournament.

With this, Touré will become the first African head coach to manage a team in the Champions League. Previously, coaches born on the African continent but representing European countries have participated in the tournament.

Touré was appointed head coach of Slovan Bratislava in July last year after leaving his position as assistant coach for the Saudi Arabia national team. He led the Slovak club through three qualifying rounds to reach the Champions League League phase.

It should be noted that as a player, Touré won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2009. He has worn the Ivory Coast national team jersey 97 times.
