The death toll from an explosion at a military equipment maintenance center in the city of Viacha, Bolivia, has reached 7.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Unitel”, that the Bolivian Ministry of Defense has released information regarding this.
It was stated that rescuers have recovered the bodies of 7 out of the 14 people who were considered missing after the explosion.
It was noted that the deceased include one sergeant and six conscripts. Search and rescue operations and debris clearance are ongoing at the scene.
Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz visited the site of the tragedy. He stated that the deceased military personnel will be posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Recall that the explosion at the military facility in Viacha occurred on September 4. Previously, it was reported that two people had died and 59 were injured.
