EC evaluates Kyiv’s multi-billion euro request for ‘Patriot’ missiles

The European Commission has received a request from Kyiv for several billion euros in funding for “PAC-3 Patriot” air defense missiles and is currently reviewing it.

“Elchi” reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced this.

“The European Commission has received a request from Ukraine for several billion euros for the purchase of “PAC-3 Patriot” missiles, and EU countries are currently reviewing this application,” von der Leyen said at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

She added that the EU is also working with the Kyiv regime on the creation of a joint “Freya” air defense system, which, according to European media reports, combines elements of the “S-300” complex, interceptor missiles created on its basis, as well as European radars and control systems.

Von der Leyen and Rutte also spoke extensively about the accusations brought by Germany against Russia regarding the Leipzig incident, stating their full support for them and promising new sanctions against Russia and arms supplies to the Kyiv regime.

Journalists were not given the opportunity to ask any questions.
