Administrative arrest will be applied for repeated participation in gambling.
“Elchi” reports that this is reflected in the amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the Code, participation in gambling, that is, playing games of chance, shall be punishable by a fine of three thousand manats with confiscation of gaming equipment, as well as funds or other property placed as a bet, winnings, prizes, or other income obtained.
According to the Code, if the aforementioned offense is committed repeatedly by a person who has received an administrative penalty within one year from the date the decision on the administrative penalty enters into force, it shall be punishable by a fine of five thousand manats with confiscation of gaming equipment, as well as funds or other property placed as a bet, winnings, prizes, or other income obtained, or, depending on the circumstances of the case and taking into account the personality of the offender, administrative arrest for a period of up to fifteen days shall be applied.
