At least two people have died and 14 are missing as a result of a flood in Grand Canyon National Park in the US state of Arizona.
“Elchi” reports, citing “ABC News”, that the US National Park Service has released information regarding this.
It is noted that the floods damaged the national park over the weekend, destroying campsites, buildings, hiking trails, and critical infrastructure. According to preliminary assessments, approximately 40% of the park’s “Transcanyon Waterline” has been damaged or destroyed.
Authorities have begun the evacuation process. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
The US National Weather Service has announced that there is a risk of recurring floods in the Grand Canyon, as well as in northern and central Arizona, at least until Monday evening.
