The Ministry of Internal Affairs has appealed to students to avoid falling victim to fraud.

It was stated that as the start of the new academic year approaches, the search for rental apartments by students who will study in the capital and various regions of the country has increased:
“Taking advantage of this situation, fraudsters post fake rental apartment offers on various advertising platforms to deceive citizens.
In such cases, fraudsters usually claim that the apartment is rented at an affordable price and demand a deposit in advance under the pretext of ‘holding’ the house. After the citizen sends the money, it becomes impossible to contact the advertiser, and calls and messages go unanswered.
Once again, we call on citizens, especially students, not to send money in advance under any circumstances without seeing the apartment and verifying the identity of the advertiser and the information about the apartment.
It is also recommended to be particularly careful with apartments offered at prices significantly lower than the market rate, and with individuals who pressure citizens with phrases like ‘send a deposit urgently’ or ‘another client is waiting’.
If you encounter such a situation, report it to the police immediately.”
