As a result of operational-search measures carried out by the operational apparatus of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, the smuggling of prohibited items into the Baku Pre-trial Detention Center has been prevented.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Justice, during the inspection of a parcel brought by an acquaintance for a person detained at the Baku Pre-trial Detention Center, 1 mobile phone and 1 electric charger, hidden in a special way inside a pair of shoes, were discovered.
An investigation into the fact is underway.
“Citizens are once again reminded that providing or transferring prohibited items to persons held in penitentiary institutions entails criminal liability,” the Ministry of Justice stated.
