A US official speaking to the US media and familiar with the visit confirmed that Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow overnight.

Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow is the first known visit by a CIA director to Russia during the Donald Trump era.
The visit comes at a time when negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine have reached a stalemate.
US demand to Ukraine: “Stop the attacks”
Before the visit, it was reported that Washington had asked Ukraine to temporarily halt drone and missile attacks on Moscow and other cities in northern Russia.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the US request covered the period from Monday to Wednesday.
Ukrainian officials were informed that a high-ranking US official would be visiting Russia.
