elchi reports that company spokesperson Brad Cicero stated that despite the efforts of the parent and cabin crew, the child refused to sit in their seat, which caused the aircraft to return from the runway to the terminal.
The flight delay was due to the time required for the aircraft to stop, the child and parent to disembark, the luggage to be removed, and the necessary procedures to be repeated.
Since the Victoria Airport runway closes at 00:30 at night, the flight was cancelled entirely.
In the statement, Cicero apologized to other passengers and noted that the plane flew to Toronto the following afternoon.
Passenger Arye Kozuch stated that there was a disturbance on the plane, but the child was not aggressive; rather, they were very scared and tried to hide under the seat.
Another passenger, Hillary Hertzberg, stated that the airline did not provide the necessary communication throughout the process, and after the flight was cancelled, passengers faced difficulties in arranging accommodation.
