After US President Donald Trump personally called Stephen Feinberg, the official responsible for supply issues, the Pentagon will hold an emergency meeting regarding ammunition shortages.
“Elchi” reports that NBC News channel has provided information on this, citing sources.
According to the TV channel, the second-highest-ranking official at the Department of Defense, following a stern call from President Trump, summoned high-ranking military officials and those responsible for defense supplies to an emergency meeting on Friday evening to discuss ways to rapidly address the US ammunition shortage.
“The Washington Post” had previously reported that Trump expressed his dissatisfaction to Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth regarding information about ammunition shortages that threaten to limit US military operations against Iran.
On August 4, CNN reported that during the confrontation with Iran, the US had used approximately 80 percent of the interceptor missiles for the THAAD missile defense system, which is designed to intercept ballistic missiles at high altitudes and outside the atmosphere. Hegseth criticized these reports, calling them false.
