In Denmark, the duration of compulsory military service has been increased from 4 months to 11 months under a new regulation.
“Elchi” reports that the duration of compulsory military service in the Danish army has been extended within the framework of the new rule. In the first phase of the new system, a group of 1,600 people, all volunteers, began training. With the implemented reform, for the first time in the country’s history, women have been included in the military system on equal terms with men.
It was reported that in the new system, soldiers will participate in operational duties for 6 months after 5 months of basic training. It was stated that soldiers will perform various duties such as drone operation, radar assistance, and patrolling at 14 different training centers in the navy, air force, and army. With the new rule, which aims to increase the operational capability of the Danish army, it is planned to increase the number of soldiers called up each year from 5,000 to 7,500 by 2033.
