The draw for the UEFA Champions League play-off round will take place today.
“Elchi” reports that the Azerbaijani champion ‘Sabah’ will also learn its potential opponent at the draw ceremony to be held in Nyon, Switzerland.
The event will begin at 14:00 Baku time.
The capital representative, led by Valdas Dambrauskas, defeated the Welsh club TNS in both matches of the first qualifying round (2:0, 2:1). The ‘Owls’ also eliminated the Finnish champion KuPS in the second round (1:0, 2:0).
‘Sabah’ is currently set to face the Danish representative ‘Aarhus’ in the third qualifying round. If the team advances past this opponent, it will learn the team it will face in the play-off round during today’s draw.
It should be noted that the winners of the play-off round will qualify for the UEFA Champions League league phase. The losing teams will continue their journey in the UEFA Europa League league phase.
The first legs of the play-off round will be held on August 18-19, and the return legs will take place on August 25-26.
