The US Department of the Treasury has imposed sanctions on five legal entities suspected of being linked to Iran’s Mahan Air airline.
elchi reports that this was stated in a declaration published on the website of the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
According to the document, the restrictions apply to the Russian transport company Air Cargo Pro, as well as four companies operating in Iran, China, and India. In addition, Washington has imposed sanctions against a Chinese citizen.
The agency’s statement notes that the entities included in the list have cooperated with Iran’s Mahan Air, which is already on the US sanctions list.
Inclusion in the sanctions list means the freezing of assets in the US, as well as a prohibition for American citizens and companies from establishing business relations with the listed entities.
