On July 27, Fabiano Coelho, Head of the Customs Administration of the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil, arrived in Azerbaijan on a visit.

At the meeting held at the State Customs Committee with the head of the Brazilian customs service, Fabiano Coelho, the current state of relations between the customs authorities of the two countries and the prospects for the development of ties were discussed. The importance of expanding cooperation and strengthening the exchange of advanced practices was emphasized, and a presentation on the topic “Reforms and initiatives implemented by the State Customs Committee” was demonstrated.
In order to strengthen the institutional foundations of bilateral cooperation and define future directions of activity, a “Joint Customs Cooperation Plan for 2026” was signed between the customs services of Azerbaijan and Brazil.
After the meeting, the guest, who became acquainted with the activities of the Target Center at the State Customs Committee, was provided with detailed information based on special presentations regarding the digital transformation, artificial intelligence-based solutions, innovative projects, and modern management approaches implemented in the customs service in recent times.
Later, a panel discussion was organized with the participation of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Colonel-General of Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, and the Head of the Customs Administration of the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil, Fabiano Coelho. The discussion covered the prospects for cooperation between the customs authorities of the two countries, specifically emphasizing the importance of experience exchange in the field of information technologies, and questions from customs officers were answered.
The guest, who visited the European Regional Office for Capacity Building of the World Customs Organization located in Baku, was informed about the office’s regional cooperation initiatives and capacity-building projects. Also, a presentation on the experience of the Brazilian customs service in the fields of Authorized Economic Operator, “Single Window,” and integrated risk management was demonstrated, and an exchange of views took place.
