Approximately 700 firefighters were deployed to a fire in Lège-Cap-Ferret, near the city of Bordeaux in southwestern France. Authorities stated that more than 20,000 people were evacuated for safety reasons. Two firefighters lost their lives during firefighting operations near Bordeaux Airport.
