elchi reports that in a televised address to the nation from the White House, President Trump criticized the current US election system. “Tonight, I am announcing the immediate declassification and release of critical intelligence that reveals shocking vulnerabilities in our election system,” Trump said, noting that the evidence in this information shows that the US election system is dangerously vulnerable to cyberattacks, abuse, and foreign interference at levels never before considered.
Trump added, “What is even more disturbing is that this vital information has been hidden and covered up for years.” Trump added that China has committed the largest election data breach in history by obtaining the data of 220 million US voters since 2020, and described it as the largest election data breach in history: “What makes this scandal even worse is that many structures within our intelligence agencies have been actively working to hide and downplay information regarding China’s malicious interference in the elections, hiding it from both the president and the American people.” Trump also stated that the Chinese government identified American journalists who wrote negative articles about him as president and paid them large sums of money, and according to some raw intelligence obtained by the FBI, China’s interference in US elections even included attempts to prepare illegal ballots for Biden. Trump added: “Today, I am asking the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Central Intelligence Agency to investigate how and why such vital information was hidden, to fire those involved in this cover-up, and to prosecute those individuals if necessary.”
